Artist Statement
I am a studio furniture maker who has been producing small production and one of a kind furniture for over forty years. I have exhibited in galleries in Western Canada, Washington, California and have work in private and public collections throughout North America. A certified joiner, with a BA in History in Art and a MA in Art Education from the University of Victoria. I have taught courses in furniture making and design for over thirty years. My furniture is designed to be functional, but with an aesthetic ideology of simplicity and honesty. I learned through contact with craftspeople, artists of mediums and academic studies in Fine Arts, to view furniture making as an integral part of the visual arts.
